Awesome review of Life is Better when you smile at Reggae Vibes by Mr.T

Out on streets is the fourth release on 7″ vinyl from the always worth checking Alchemy Dubs record label from London UK. This limited edition of 500 copies – hand-stamped and hand-numbered, served in a thick customkraftliner sleeve with inner black disco sleeves – features the thoroughly entertaining “Life Is Better When You Smile” on the A-Side and its noteworthy dub counterpart on the other side.

Produced by Oscar Pablos aka Ojah, “Life Is Better When You Smile” is the very first release by Alchemy Dubs that includes vocals. The latter come from Spanish singer/songwriter Hada Guldris aka Suka, who makes a great impression on the label’s new roots offering with her beautiful yet powerful vocals and lyrics. The energy of her lyrics convey attitude and a strong personality in her songs in which she clearly expresses her social commitment and her love for humanity. Besides the voice of Hada Guldris, this tune also features backing vocals by singer Giselle Wai Lau.

Ojah, a long time friend of Hada Guldris with whom he worked on several projects through the years with the highlight being Suka’s 2013 album “The North Node”, has provided the Spanish songstress with a great Steppers riddim that carries an appealing latin vibe. It’s the deep bass alongside the latin percussion and wonderful sounding horns that makes this fresh sounding riddim a winner. Turn over the vinyl for a worthwhile dub experience. “Life Is Better When You Dub” is a heavy instrumental dub cut in which the different recorded instruments are showcased. This one fires on all cylinders and is a relentless sound system killer.
